I am currently blogging with one hand and feeding Anna with the other so who knows when you will actually see this.¬†But today I want to dive into the process with you all. The nitty gritty of the journey…

I am one to love social media and my favorite in particular is Instagram.


And I am now falling in love with Snapchat thanks to my friend Angela Rogers who introduced me to it a few weeks ago.

I love to follow people that I find inspiring on Instagram, BUT I know that this picture that I see is not the whole story! Even when there is a story attached, I am not fooled. I know that behind that pic is a real person doing real life things. We see the results and the smiles, but what we don’t see is the struggle and it is easy to be fooled into thinking the process was all fun and games.

So today, I am going to share with you my real life things. On Monday, I will finish Insanity Max 30 and then I will share with you my results from this 60 day program. It hasn’t been too difficult because my mind is set on my goal and I know that the process of achieving it isn’t an easy one. But, if your mind isn’t set on your goal, and you have not prepared yourself to push through discomfort, you will be caught off guard and likely give up. So here is a peak into how my weight loss journey has played out the past 3 months.

  • When I first started Insanity Max 30, I couldn’t do ANY of the exercises the way they were doing them. I had to modify EVERYTHING. I couldn’t do one push-up and I couldn’t do any of the jumping exercises.
  • When I first got back into working out after having Anna, my weight didn’t change for over A MONTH even though my eating was almost perfect and I was totally getting my butt kicked in my work-outs.
  • Some days I am so tired I can hardly see but I know if I don’t exercise during Anna’s morning nap, there will not be another chance.
  • I still can’t do some of the exercises on Insanity Max 30.
  • Some weeks, my weight won’t change at all.
  • My basement is where I workout. It is REALLY messy and REALLY dirty. I touch the floor with my hands and even my whole body. I feel really disgusting when I’m done haha.
  • Sometimes I have to stop in the middle of the workout to take care of Anna and then go back and do the rest.
  • I pee my pants during every workout.

So the whole thing is pretty messy………. But don’t lose heart!

At the same time…..

  • It feels so good to work hard!
  • It feels so good to move!
  • It feels so good to get closer and closer to my goal!!!
  • It feels good to know that I am making my myself healthier each day!
  • It feels so good make healthy choices instead of giving into bad ones all the time!
  • It feels so good to know that these are things that will help me in old age as well as now.
  • It feels so good to be on the other side of “I am going to…..”
  • It feels so good to find out that I can do more than I thought!
  • It feels so good to be DOING.

So if you are making a change or beginning a new program on Monday, get your head in the game first! It’s a long road but a rewarding one for sure!

Sugarless Indulgences

Good afternoon!

In case you missed my post where I quit sugar, I have been completely sugarless (the junky kind) since October 30th, 2016. So almost 3 months. It’s crazy that it’s only been 3 months because it feels like I have been living this way my whole life. Life without sugar is not only way easier than I thought but way better than I thought as well! If you have been on the fence about whether to banish the stuff from your life, I say do it. There is no nutritional need for junky sugar and quitting may will open your eyes to so many other little indulgences in life that are not so destructive toward your energy, weight loss goals, and overall wellbeing. Here are some little things that I find indulgent that also happen to be sugar-free!

Starbucks Grande Non-fat Latte


If you can get to where you like black coffee, the latte becomes a creamy and dreamy break from the norm. I am a die-hard coffee lover so of course the latte is at the top of my list!



Ok, make sure you check the label because kombuchas do have sugar! But if you can find one that is sugarless, they make a great soda alternative. They are also good for your gut health so its a win win!
But whatever you do, DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. There is this stuff at the bottom of kombucha, kind of like the stuff in apple cider vinegar, you will be tempted to shake the bottle…… do not shake the bottle. I repeat, do not shake the bottle!

Unless you want to take a shower in kombucha that it.

Vanilla Shakeology In Greek Yogurt


Shakeology in Greek yogurt is simply joyous. This is my breakfast every single day but it seems indulgent to me. Any flavor will work but I love vanilla. It’s sweetened with stevia but has absolutely NO aftertaste so it makes a wonderful sweet and creamy treat. Most people drink Shakeology as a shake but I like to eat it. ūüôā
It also helps me stick to my sugarless commitment by meeting all of my nutritional needs. No deficiencies means no cravings! High five!

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk Latte 


My dad got me the Starbucks Verismo brewing system for Christmas and I LOVE it. I was a barista for 7 years but this machine makes it so easy to make your favorite coffee drinks. I have been making lattes with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. They are just as awesome as the non-fat latte from Starbucks but have a yummy nutty flavor. Having a latte in the comfort of my own home is definitely indulgent.

Any Greek Yogurt/Fruit/Salty Nut Concoction


Mmmmm, salty sweet. This particular concoction has Greek yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, uncooked oats, and salted nuts.

Lemon Cayenne Kevita

You may be wondering if lemon and cayenne would be a good flavor combo, I assure you it is. This beverage is so refreshing and only has 10 calories in the whole bottle!

Happy Monday Peaches!

So often we let our fears hold us back when it comes to our health even though staying right where we are is actually worse than what we are afraid of.

Finding yourself paralyzed by fear? Here are a few of the common fears that get in the way of our goals. And here is a little game I made up called Maybe It Will, Maybe It Won’t¬†to point out the possible results of our choices.

Maybe you will find this post helpful…. but then maybe you won’t. Haha!




FEAR: I Won’t Be Able To Stick To A Healthy Eating Meal Plan
Maybe It Will…..¬†make you miserable because you miss your old way of eating. Maybe you will hate it so much you will give in and feel like a failure and end up feeling worse than you already do.
Maybe It Won’t…..¬†be so bad. Maybe you will enjoy the way you feel from living a healthy lifestyle so much that you won’t even want to eat the way you used to anymore. Maybe you will actually like¬†healthy food. Maybe it will start with eating less sugar and you will end up just like one of those beautiful, fit people you see on Health Magazine¬†while waiting in line at the grocery store.
Certainly: If you don’t try a healthy eating meal plan, you will never know if you like it or not, if you can stick to it or not, and you will certainly stay the way you are.

FEAR: I Have Already Failed MANY Times At Trying To Eat A Healthy Diet, I Will Just Fail Again.
Maybe It Will…..
make things worse to try again. Maybe you will not be able to do it, again, and only feel worse about yourself.
Maybe It Won’t….. be the same outcome this time. Maybe, if you come at it with a clean slate, a brand new mindset, you can forget every single thing that you have ever done wrong in the past and start again. Maybe this can be the start of something fantastic.
Certainly: If you believe you can’t, you are right.

FEAR: I Will Not Be Able To Keep Up With A Exercise Program
Maybe It Will…..
be to hard. Maybe it will hurt. Maybe you won’t be able to keep up with everyone else in the class. Maybe you will feel ashamed. Maybe you will feel discouraged. Maybe you will feel uncomfortable. Maybe you will just give up because you feel ashamed and discouraged and uncomfortable.
Maybe It Won’t…..¬†be so bad that it’s hard. Maybe it won’t be so bad that it hurts. Maybe when you can’t keep up with everyone else, it will fuel a fire that you didn’t know was inside you. Maybe you will feel proud. Maybe you will feel encouraged because your body did something you didn’t think it could…..what else can it do? Maybe it will feel good to feel uncomfortable for a bit…… maybe you will feel alive!
Certainly:¬†If you don’t give it a shot, you will stay just as you are right now.

FEAR: People Will Think I Am Stupid
Maybe It Will…..
be that you are laughed at. People will wonder why you are even trying. People will laugh behind your back because you are overweight and trying to get in shape. Maybe they will think you are stupid for daring to step into a gym looking the way you do. Maybe they will even say something to you. Maybe your feelings will be hurt.
Maybe It Won’t….. be any of your business what they say behind your back.¬†Maybe¬†you will¬†not care what they think because you are too focused. Maybe you will do what is good for you despite what people think or say. Maybe you will put one foot in front of the other and keep your eye on your goal. Maybe you will gain respect for yourself. Maybe you will find out that’s all the respect you needed in the first place.
Certainly: You are the result of your thoughts.

Just some thoughts.

Maybe today will be like yesterday……. but maybe it won’t!


Home Workouts Vs. Gym Workouts

Hi Yall!

If you began following my blog anytime before I was pregnant with Anna, you know that I was definitely a textbook gym rat.

Then I became a Beachbody coach back in August and have been rocking it at home ever since. I started with Beachbody’s Country Heat during the third trimester of my pregnancy, then did 21 Day Fix Extreme, and now I am almost done with Insanity Max 30.

In today’s post, I am sharing my experience with my home workouts vs the gym days. After reading, please chime in and share your experience and which one you prefer!

Overall Enjoyment


Although I don’t always enjoy the actual¬†act¬†of some exercises (ahem, plyo lunges), I have always enjoyed working out and the lifestyle there of. I have to say, it’s a tie between the gym and home workout here for me! I loved the gym’s weight room and loved to go and let out all my frustrations on the iron. But I am having a lot of fun and am loving what I am achieving in the home workouts too! My cardiovascular endurance is the best it has been in years actually, even since August. My¬†agility and flexibility has grown leaps and bounds! I didn’t realize how lifting had made me so blocky and stiff even though I was in great shape. I am also loving maxing out. It just feel good to work hard. That stuff should probably go under the “results” section of this post. I kinda chased a rabbit there….. moving on.


Aw, little Ryan. Anna was just a glimmer in our eye.

Home workout definitely wins here. With diving time, cardio, and lifting, I was spending no less than 3 HOURS of my day driving to the gym and working out. Last time I checked, I was the one in my home who cooks, cleans, does the laundry, runs errands, takes care of the kids, writes this blog, etc. etc. etc. I have no maidens! (all of you Proverbs 31 fans). So three hours out of my day was kinda taking away from other things that needed to be done. And by kinda, I mean totally. Now I just feed Anna and head to the basement! I’m done in 30 minutes! Sweet!


I have gotten great results from both the gym and the DVD’s. I am one to love a muscular build so I was totally down with my more muscly look before I got pregnant with Anna (I say “before I got pregnant with Anna” because I decided to take a much needed break during my pregnancy). BUT now after 21 Day Fix and Insanity Max 30, I have to say I really like the smaller build! My legs are 2 inches smaller in EACH than they have been since I got married 6 and 1/2 years ago. I know it’s because now I am doing lighter weight and body weight exercises and not lifting huge amounts of weight. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE lifting. But aside from loving the smaller build, it feels good to not be carrying around as much on my body. So for now I like the home workout results best.

Social Aspect 


Although I have pretty much always been a loner in the gym (except for my one awesome gym buddy Becca. Remember her?! Love you Becca!) I have always found the gym to be a great place to meet people of a like mind. Obviously working out at home I don’t have the motivation of a bunch of hardworking people around me. BUT coaching has actually proven to be better than the gym. I have my awesome team of women who are all super committed and super excited about Beachbody and I DON’T have the creepy gym guy haha. We all know that guy. So I haven’t at all felt isolated. In fact, I have never before felt more a part of something. And my team, Race2Serve actually puts focus on the Lord which you all know is very important to me. So I guess the home workout wins again here. I can’t wait to start my own team soon!

Effect On Daily Life


This is a big one and the home workout wins by far. As much as I love lifting, I WAS SPENT for the rest of the day after my workouts, especially leg day. Hey, I got kids!!! I can’t be spent! Then I had this RAGING hunger all the time! I could seriously eat and eat and eat!!!! Now that I am doing workouts with lighter weights and more cardio, I don’t have this raging hunger anymore and because of this, it is easier to stick to a meal plan. Also, when I first signed up to Beachbody, I got Shakeology with my challenge pack. I didn’t realize that I was lacking in any nutrients until I experienced the boost from NOT being deficient! It’s pretty pricey but it’s got so much feel good stuff in it. At first, I thought it was like the other meal replacements that I have tried before but when I compared the labels it’s completely different. I no longer have to take vitamins, and because it’s a meal, I figure it is just the cost of whatever I would have been eating instead.

So although gym life was awesome, the home workouts are definitely where it’s at in this season of my life.
