Day 10 MHC: Chisel Agility….. Learned Something New About Myself Today

Happy Friday!

Quote of the day….

“Ooooooooh! I just exercise farted!” -Ryan

Win of the day….

Anna was not only awake for this 40 minute workout, but she played quietly on her little play mat as well! 40 minutes! I was amazed. Thank you miss Anna!

Day 10 The Master’s Hammer and Chisel: Chisel Agility

I learned something new about myself today. My listening skills need WORK! Chisel Agility is definitely the most fun I’ve had in a workout in a really long time. I’ve actually never taken an agility class before nor have I ever done any sort of agility workout. Agility is all about being able to move in different directions quickly. So in this workout, you add direction to all of the exercises. Well… I’m good with adding direction to squats and lunges and so on, but apparently agility is also about sharpening your mind as well. For some of the exercises, you had to wait until the instructor told you what to do before doing anything. The first exercise that this was done with was the plank. So you got into plank position and then tapped out your right or left hand or right or left foot WHEN SHE SAID TO. Seems simple but I was terrible at this! This is pretty much how things went down.

“Right front!”  Meaning tap out your right hand.

I tap my right hand.

“Right front!”

I tap my left hand.

“Left FRONT!” Still supposed to be tapping my hand.

I tap my left right foot.

Over and over!!! Not only do I not listen well but I do a whole lot of assuming……. and you know what they say happens when you assume.

But despite my lack of listening skills, this was my favorite workout so far. It was so unique! Unique to me anyway. Super fun!

10 days down, 50 to go! Onward!

What I Ate Today

Low carb day 10 (of 14)

Have a great night everyone and a great start to your weekend. It’s Super Bowl Weekend and our Falcons are in it!

Are you a good listener?

Have you ever taken an agility class? Love it or hate it?

State Your Change! One Change Challenge Details

Well I am so excited that you ladies are in this challenge with me! 🙂 Even if you were a little hesitant at first. I think every one of your comments telling me that you were in had “ugh!” or “gah!” in it hahaha! This is going to be so awesome though. Not everyone mentioned what their change will be but so far we have meditation, jelly bean quitting, and sticking to a to-do list all going on next week. This is great! I was hoping that we would all have different ones and it looks like we do!

Such wisdom from the notebooks at TJMaxx

So let’s all state our change under this post. If you haven’t come up with yours yet, that’s ok! When you do think of it, state it under here.

The challenge starts Monday February 6th. I will do a One Change Challenge post Monday and then everyone comment at the end of the day (or whenever) that you SUCCEEDED (because what else?) and how it went and how you feel and we will all celebrate each other. And then we will do that 6 more times! Yay!!!

Also, just like we did with the real food challenge, you all can send me pictures of how you are making your change and I will post about it. 🙂 You are all so inspiring!

Any questions? I’m so excited!

Let’s do it ladies! You are all so awesome!

Day 8 MHC:Chisel Cardio + A Little (big) Outburst

Hey there!

This morning there was a good example of how sometimes I can be winning as a mom and then totally lose at it all within the same half hour. As you know I workout at home while my baby is asleep. Well today Anna woke up before I was done so I had to break to feed and occupy her before I could finish the rest. I don’t know about you but once there is a break in my focus it is hard to get going again. But I fed her, set her up in her Bumbo seat, and got back to it. She got restless before the end but I made it work haha!

Total fit mom win right? It would have been a total win if the story had ended there…… but it did not.

Also during said workout, Ryan was playing next to me. This is fine, he is usually next to me playing during every workout. Well he has this Minion gun that when you pull the trigger it makes farting noises. I know, only the best for my boy! He kept pulling the trigger and sounding it over and over again. At this point in the mom game I have learned to tune out pretty much every bell and whistle on their toys, but this time I couldn’t hear the instructor over the noise so I asked him to take it somewhere else……… He stays. He doesn’t stop.

Proudly displaying the torture device

I ask him again to take it somewhere else. Still nicely.

Doesn’t phase him.

I ask him one more time nicely.

Might as well have been speaking to a wall.

At this point I probably should have just taken the gun away and let that be that, but instead I chose to yell “Ryan if you don’t stop with the gun I’m taking it away!”

STILL farting sounds proceed!

So I snatched the gun from his hands and threw it against the cement wall in my basement.

Ya win some ya lose some I guess.

The Master’s Hammer and Chisel: Chisel Cardio

I have GOT to quit thinking that I know what is coming in these workouts. Stoppit Angela just stoppit! You don’t! Going by the name, I figured this was going to be reminiscent of the cardio in Insanity Max 30 and totally geared myself up for a super sweaty, weightless cardio session. But no! It was the coolest cardio!

It’s like cardio weightlifting. It’s neat. You are holding weights while do each exercise for 1 minute. It really gets your heart rate up! Aside from the fart gun throwing incident, it was actually a really fun workout today.

Sometimes It’s Enough, Sometimes It’s Just Not

Some days my meal plan is enough and then some days it’s not. Last night it was not. I was SO HUNGRY. I already had posted what I ate for the day on here so I kept going back and forth in my head about whether to eat more or not. I thought about it way too long but then finally ended up having some more of my prepped food. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with this but I have to say it was a little bit of a mental struggle! Isn’t it so hard to not have the all-or-nothing-mindset? But we have to break free of it and keep moving forward.

So here is what I ate today. Some days it’s enough and then some days it’s not. If I add anything to it I will let you know tomorrow. 🙂
