Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – March 10, 2017

Happy Friday Night!

How’s it going? Is anyone doing their cheat meal today? I think I might do my tomorrow. What to eat, what to eat? Hmmmm. Maybe I will be inspired by some of you.

I’ll just make tonight’s post short and sweet so that we can all just check in and let our weekend begin. I will of course be posting Saturday and Sunday so that we all don’t go way overboard. Not that you will, but I will haha.

I am taking a break from workouts until Sunday. I need to break for a few days because I feel like I have been hit by a truck. So here’s today’s food! I am going vegan until next weekend so I am trying to get rid of my dairy. Yogurt all day haha…….again.

    Still a crappy appetite today. I am feeling so motivated though! It’s like I’m finally flexing my willpower muscle this week and now it’s getting stronger. It’s funny because each time I think “I’ll just have one cookie” I have two thoughts that stop me. 1) you have to log it and post it 2) feeling good in a bikini sounds better than that would taste. I’m glad I feel like I can do this!!
    B- chicken sausage and a slice of gluten free toast with Kerry gold butter and a cappuccino
    S- cashew milk collagen shake
    L- fruit and green larabar
    D- chicken fried in coconut oil, a few roasted potato chunks and maple glazed carrots
    S- half a glass of organic chocolate milk and a spoon of Nutella with my vitamins/ supplements

    Exercise: shoveling obscenely heavy snow! I’m so done with winter! I was sweating and my muscles were burning, I push myself on purpose to take advantage of being functionally productive when I exercise. A good workout and a clean deck!

  2. I had beer and pub food yesterday so I guess that was my cheat day. Today I went out for lunch and tried a new vegan gluten-free cafe, it was delicious and very healthy. Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for breakfast, but I think I can keep it healthy. This evening I went to Zumba after work, Friday’s class is like a big party, the instructor is fantastic and everyone has a great time.

    Food:
    B – coffee with heavy cream
    L – sweet potato/coconut/ginger soup and salad bowl with tons of delicious goodies
    S – 1/2 apple, almonds
    D – pork chop and steamed veggies
    S – dark chocolate

    This was not a low carb day but I am thinking about changing things up again because it can be very restrictive to eat LCHF and my weight hasn’t budged in months. I am thinking about increasing carbs and protein a little bit and cutting back on the fat to moderate levels.

    1. It’s tough to find a good balance on keto. I’ve done it a few times. I had to keep my carbs under 25g. That means very little veg. It was not sustainable.

      Curently I keep my carbs between 80-120g and it’s going well. Good luck to you! It’s fun eating all that fat though! I make fat bombs it was wonderful šŸ™‚

      Nice food!!! I hear ya on the restrictiveness of LCHF Christine. It’s like my body is screaming for produce. I’m interested to see how you switch things up! Have a great Sunday!

  3. Hey Everyone! I am super motivated as well!!! I had such a great day today!!! Seriously! Any way you know breakfast and lunch! Lol
    Dinner was kinda big. I had a huge work out this afternoon so it’s ok.
    Half a coconut tortilla while making dinner. (Had to send hubby for propane! Don’t you hate when you preheat and it does?!?! )
    So I had a lettuce wrap burger with a mountain of mushrooms! So yummy!

    So I have a question! How do you all feel about the ladies area of the gym??? I don’t like it. It feels so segregated. I joined a new gym with child minding for weekend use(my husband is gone a lot on the weekends so I want something that I can go do for an hour) anyways I’m on a 2 week pass to try it out and their are no smaller weights in the main area!! Like a few 10s and 15s. Then they are huge. Now I haven’t had a proper tour of this gym yet. I’m doing it tomorrow so maybe it will be fine. I hate looking around on my own. Once I know where everything is I can put my head phones in a zone out. I don’t like to socialize at the gym. Although I may have. Gym buddy here. One of the moms at the school. We will see. Another question! What do you do when someone wants to work out together and you don’t. I mean even if you like the person. She’s great, we chat and do play dates. But workouts are my alone time???? Thoughts???

    1. I would just be honest. Tell her you take your workouts seriously and that you like her but you do better at the gym on your own. Pull the “it’s not you, it’s me” line. “But we can still be friends.” It’s like a workout breakup. šŸ˜‚ I crack myself up! But seriously, honesty in a nice way should work. Workouts are personal.

    2. Oh right. Oh no. I am no help here because I am terrible at this kind of confrontation. I think we have had this discussion before. More than likely I will just go to the gym when they aren’t there. I know, I’m terrible!!! Anne’s response is definitely better.

      1. That’s too funny. I think I’m going with a half and half response! I also decided to ask this other mom I know that to come. Her and I have a hard time connecting for play dates so maybe I’ll take the opportunity to multi task!
