Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – In the Trenches

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – In the Trenches

Happy Monday Sweet Challengers!

Dear Friends,

We are in the trenches. Right now. We are not dreaming, we are not talking about what we are”going to do”, we are not waiting on the right time. We are in the trenches and we are making it happen.

Feel it. Get comfortable here in the uncomfortable. Let go of the thought of an end date. We are exactly where we need to be. Keep working.

GREAT JOB LADIES!!!

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge! March 20, 2017

I cannot express to you the delight I felt reading all of your comments from the weekend posts. You ladies are absolutely blowing this challenge away. I love that we are already getting results 2 weeks in and all of you are killing me with your mindset. ROCK freaking Stars. Gah! (as Anne says lol)

Here are some of our food and fitness stuff!

Here’s Sarah’s BCAA’s and she made the coconut flaxseed bread that Christine gave her the recipe for!

Anne made clean pork fried rice! You and Sarah are so good at making faux restaurant food!

Christine made this amazing pesto chicken casserole with cauliflower rice and then these chocolate nutty treats made with just 3 ingredients. Nut butter, coconut oil, and chocolate protein powder sweetened with stevia. Yummy!

Then here is my fav vegan concoction right now. Normandy blend and fungus with dijon mustard and flaxseed. πŸ™‚

  1. You are right, we’re in the trenches! I’m in the trenches two ways today. 1) I feel all congested again. Boo. 2) This is the first day in this that I felt the motivation waiver a smidge. I guess cause I don’t feel good I started to think about chips and candy, etc. comfort junk food. But I got over it pretty quick and reminded myself that by not eating those things I’m not deprived, I’m actually giving myself the gift of health and wellness. I can feel my body changing and it’s so worth it to feel comfortable in my skin and capable of workouts I couldn’t do before. Ok. Back on track! Even just writing that helped!

    B- Angela’s blueberry nut “cereal”
S- vega bar. Wow! So delicious! I had coconut chocolate
    S- collagen shake
L- aloha bar….never again. I had vanilla almond. It was dry and tasteless. No thanks.
D- spaghetti squash bolognese. I just sautΓ©ed ground turkey with Italian herbs, onions and peppers. Then I mixed in baby spinach and tomato sauce and served it over spaghetti squash. So yummy and simple! It tastes complicated and fancy!
S- warm cinnamon apple and kombucha

Exercise: rest. I feel like crap. Early bed tonight.

    Happy Monday babes!!

    1. You have such a great mindset Anne even though you aren’t feeling that great. Haha! No to the aloha bar huh? Your food looks fantastic! Hope you are feeling better today!

    2. Hopeful you are feeling better today Anne. Yum ! I have been wanting to do a spaghetti squash as I have some sauce to use up.

  2. Today was awesome, totally feeling like I’m in the groove! I got a preworkout with BCAAs, creative, and vitamin B complex and was pretty excited to try that–thanks for the suggestion Sarah! I had a great workout and felt motivated to eat clean the rest of the day. Oh, and I met my sister for coffee at this place that has an amazing frozen coffee but I’m sure it’s full of sugar so I opted for iced coffee and added stevia and I didn’t regret it at all. I would have felt like crap had I drank all that sugar.

B: protein shake, iced coffee w/ stevia
    L: brown rice/quinoa and carrots
    S: shake & banana
D: Taco lettuce wraps, unsweetened apple sauce

Leg and back exercise, 15 min run

    1. Awesome mind over matter there girl ! That’s the way to pull from old habits. Just say no and don’t regret !! Now, let me live by my words. I gave in over the weekend to sweets πŸ˜–.

  3. I think I need to throw my scale out the window because the number doesn’t move and I let it affect how I feel and I know better.

B – coffee and 1/2 homemade Quest bar
L – chicken pesto casserole with spaghetti squash
S – raw veggies with hummus
D – my mom’s homemade cabbage rolls (made with ground beef and rice)
S – dark chocolate (I think I am eating too much of this, it’s becoming a habit)

Exercise was Body Pump after work.

    1. Christine don’t give up! When you make a change to your diet you body takes a little time to adjust to it all. Really! After I had Anna and I reduced my calories the scale didn’t move for a month and a half!!! Just stay consider and don’t give up. You are on the right track!

    2. Take that scale, open your front door and throw ! Lol ! I totally hear you Christine. I have not weighed in for weeks now.

  4. Ok so I had a not so great day. I kept it ok but not as I would have hoped. Aunt Flo has come and about every 4th visit I get this terrible out of body experience. It’s the weirdest thing. It never happens before I had kids. Hormones suck! Lol I’m so eloquent!
    So vega bar and coffee
    Vega bar and coffee
    Banana chocolate coconut muffin
Two handfuls of popcorn (which I feel was the low point as I realized it was stale after the first handful! Lol)
That’s when I got it together. And decided to move on. Pretty happy I still had my planned dinner. (Normally I’d either skip dinner or eat everything)
Grilled chicken, with kale, tomato and beet Salad.
And I ate my sons extra πŸ“
I’m planning on being done now. Man I hate this feeling. If my husband looks at me wrong I may freak, my dogs whining makes me crazy and the fact that I’m bloated and the scale went up (even though I’m smart enough to realize what’s happening) ALL ANOYS ME!!!!
Luckily it’s only one day and not every month!
Today is my rest day. I really wanted to work out but I know I need a rest. I have Carsen in the morning so back at it tomorrow.
    Night night ladiesπŸ’•

    1. You still pretty good and you didn’t go overboard. Like I said before, for me it’s hard to just have a handful of something or a few bites of something. Your day was a win if you ask me! Especially with the mood. Great job! Today will be better. πŸ™‚

    2. You’ve still got this under control though. You’re doing great!! You recovered and didn’t let it derail you. Definitely a win!

  5. Oh and I chased an old guy who really pisses me off today and called the police on him! He passed me on the left, over a double yellow, in a school zone mid day! I lost it! I followed him in my truck(his car was no match for the super charger!) all the way to his house and took a photo of his plate and address and called the police. He now has a tag on his plate and if he gets caught in any infraction he will be charged and I will give a statement. Don’t mess with me today folks!!

  6. I so enjoy reading these postings. Today was a good day. Phew, a revive from my overindulgent weekend. Hate when I do that. And it felt so natural, that’s what bothered me the most. I have to put mindset to becoming a newbie clean eater I think to weed out what I have allowed in over the years. I’ll call it stripped eating, lol ! And, it is so simple when you live by those rules. Less of everything in the cabinet and fridge. Anyways, where is our Heather ?? Oh Heather, where are you ???

I did post my foods somewhere yesterday to keep my butt in line. Geeeeze…let’s see if I can remember. I’m have been struggling with this lately. I can normally remember what I ate all week…but not lately !

    B. Vega smoothie
    L. Greek yogurt, hemp, chia, flax, frozen fruit, cinnamon
    S. Celery w/pn butter
    D. Fajita seasoned chicken breast strips, steamed broccoli, 1/4 brown wild rice
    S. Unsweetened apple sauce

Exercise ~ Pooch and I hit the trails. Whew baby…trudging through a foot plus of snow was a challenge for me yesterday. BUT, I kept up with it for 45 minutes. Did random squats, lunges, this and thats.
Been skipping out on dumbbell workouts…I love to use those arm and shoulder muscles. I’m feeling mentally and physically lazy. I have been wandering around the house doing little clean ups here and there. I’m getting in the spring cleaning mode. Want to package up all knick knacks and strip out the house. Switched out winter curtains with spring valances to lighten up the windows. Think I would have washed the windows when I did this but I didn’t 😝 .

    1. Hi Mary! I thnk it’s pretty normal to have to kinda go back to basics every now and then. I’m really good at overdoing everything or taking whatever it is to the extreme so I have to do this a lot lol. I like the extremes though. I have just learned to roll with them and I always learn a lot
Are you talking about Eat Clean Diet Stripped. I love that book!
Good day!! Ithink you will feel more motivation the more you get back into the swing of things.

  7. Oh, I forgot to mention that I passed up the sale of Girl Scout cookies on Sunday. I saddened those little daisy scouts at Home Depot. BUT….if I eat one, I want twenty. SO, I made the correct choice ! Yay for me !!!!!

      1. I bought a bag of popcorn from the boyscouts that was $20!!!! I had already said I would and when is a BAG of popcorn $20. I hope Jason isn’t reading this lol
