Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – For the Win!

Happy Friday Ladies!

Friday’s For the Win! Let’s share our success from this week.

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – For the Win!

I know that a lot of us have had weight loss success this week but I KNOW that we all especially deserve a big shout out for sticking to our guns week. Last weekend a few of us expressed lackluster motivation but then totally regrouped and kicked serious challenge butt this week! Way to freaking go!!!

It’s so cool to see all of our work. šŸ™‚

So my wins this week are that I hung in there through the lack of motivation and I am down 4 POUNDS on the scale this week. That’s a total of 52 pounds! Woot woot! (37 minus baby and water)

I want to share this for anyone experiencing scale frustration. I have been trucking along at this for six and a half months now and let me tell you, WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT LINEAR. We have to be patient. Every single month, I lose nothing for two weeks, then the pounds come off for two weeks. And in the beginning, I lost NOTHING for a month and a half!

This is especially true for those of us in our 30’s and beyond. As young as we feel, our body is changing and we can’t expect it to do the same things that it used to. In my 20’s, I could maintain my weight with around 2200 calories and lose with 1800. I could also have a whole cheat DAY every week and still be on track with my goals. That no longer works haha. So meet yourself where you are and be patient. I cannot stress the patience enough.

Patient and consistent!

You ladies in this group are proving to be both consistent and patient. Rockstars!!!

I’m posting this early today so I will catch you guys in the comments tonight with my food and workout!

What are your wins from this week?

What did you eat today?

What did you do for exercise?

Have a fantastic Friday everyone!

  1. Busy Friday, but it’s over, and the weekend is here! Looking forward to out first day of baseball tomorrow and a nice day of family yard work Sunday. Every intention of staying on track this weekend, I’m not derailing like last week. That stunk. I took my cheat tonight.

    B- blueberry almond “cereal”
    S- Rx bar
    L- vega bar
    S- small piece of chocolate
    D- paleo pumpkin spice pancakes
    S- kombucha and popcorner chips

    Exercise- rest, I’m pretty sore.

    Happy Friday ladies!!

    1. Yay weekend!!!
Ah! You made pumkpin pancakes and I received no picture!!!
I took my cheat tonight too. Mexican. I stayed vegetarian but I have a lot to learn on how to stay vegan when eating out. :/
Great day! No derailment! Good job!!!

  2. Just realized I had a vegetarian day. Almost vegan, but there were eggs in the pancakes. And the Rx bar. And milk chocolate. Ok. Never mind. Not vegan. Lol! But definitely meatless.

      1. That’s not my son for sure, lol! If you ask him what his favorite food is, his answer is always a very enthusiastic “Meat!” šŸ˜‚

      2. I was just gonna say, why are we both up, lol!!! I honestly don’t remember that. He’s gone through phases of giving up certain foods, but it’s was always weird things like mac and cheese. What kid doesn’t eat mac and cheese? And that lasted for like over two years! I’ve never really had an issue with meat though. If he did that and I don’t remember it certainly didn’t last long, now he’s obsessed with chicken wings!

      3. Anna got up at 2:30 so I am taking this as extra hours from the Lord to get things done. šŸ™‚
It might have been just one day. But I do remember you telling me that he made this statement.
Who gives up mac and cheese??? Lol!!! When I was in 2nd, my teacher had the class draw a picture of our favorite food on a note card and then tell the class about it. I remember pretty much every kid had a picture of pizza or spaghetti………then I stand up with my picture of a wedge of cheese.

      4. That’s hysterical! A wedge of cheese! He probably did say it, his vocabulary is priceless! Oh I think I remember now! My espresso is kicking in!! I think it was when he realized chicken nuggets are made of actual chickens! I talked him out of getting upset about it by telling him God gave us the animals to make our bodies healthy and it’s ok to eat them as long as we are nice to them first. Then he started playing minecraft and he lights sheep on fire for mutton so he’s a carnivore again. Lol!!!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ enjoy your extra time!! My husband has to work today so I’m up with him because he makes my lattes. šŸ˜³

      5. Lol!!! Oh my gosh, that’s awesome. His heart is as vast as his brilliance.
How sweet it that?!!! If I don’t make the coffee, Jason just gets up and stares at the coffee maker waiting for it to do something lol!
So glad you guys love the new espresso machine! Well, new-ish now.

  3. Way to go Angela, you have had great success and have obviously worked very hard at it.

When you are in your 50’s and in menopause it’s even harder to lose weight! I probably need to eat less calories, but I refuse to go on a starvation diet. I have been reading Jason Fung’s book “The Obesity Code”. He says that the best way to improve insulin resistance and therefore fat regulation, is by fasting, which is not the same as a consistently low calorie diet. I have tried fasting for about 14-16 hours (basically no food after dinner and skipping breakfast the next day), it doesn’t seem to make a difference. His patients get better results with 24-36 hour fasts or even several days of fasting. I don’t know if I can fast for that long, but maybe I should try for 24 hours.

My win for this week is persistence and consistency.

I went out after work with some ladies for wine and appetizers.

    1. Thank you Christine!!!
NO starvation diet!!! There are great benefits to fasting but I find it something to do on and off. I swear it becomes miserable the minute you commit to it lol.

She is in her 40’s and does LCHF with intermittent fasting. SO many good posts on it!
You are so persistent! You keep us going more than you know Christine.
A while back, I think we were cutting sugar? My memory is kind of foggy because I think Anna was so new. Or maybe I was pregnant. Geez. Anyway, I remember I was really having a time showing up everyday but it was YOU showing up and doing so well with LCHF that made me hang in there. Thank you so much for doing this with us. You are so special to me and truly an inspiration. xoxox

      1. Aw, thank you Angela. You are so sweet and a beautiful person inside and out. You have been such an inspiration to all of all us and you are a wonderful compassionate coach. I’m so glad I found you on KT (how many years ago was that?) xoxo

  4. Took Friday night as my cheat. We went to Mexican. Still figuring out how to do vegan when out to eat especially when Jason is not very adventurous when it comes to trying new restaurants. I got chile rellenos (my fav) and 2 Michelob Ultras. So still vegetarian, still a lot to learn.
