Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – April 30, 2017

It’s Sunday and it’s the last day of the month!

I love when the first of the month lands on Monday, DOUBLE new beginnings!

Ok let’s huddle up and get our heads in the game. What is your goal for the week ahead?

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge!

In the comments section the past few days Sarah, Anne, and I have been discussing going one week sugarless. Let’s do it! I quit sugar back in October and have not looked back once because it feels SO amazing! It really is the sugar (and our society) that makes you think we need the sugar! I remember writing this post  and being so nervous. I didn’t even share it on social media or anything because I didn’t want too many people to see it in case I failed miserably. Quitting isn’t for everyone, but for those of us that it IS for, life is so great without it, the thought of adding it back in is literally nauseating.

Just say NOOOOO to the M&M propeller bunny!

So now that I have made every sugar lover feel terrible, anyone up for a sugarless challenge? Haha!

I will post my food in the comments with all of you later. I wanted to go ahead and get this up so we can all gear up for the week!

Wanna go sugarless for a week?

No problem of not, what is you goal for the week ahead?

Any exercise today?

Happy Sunday yall!

  1. Angela, you have done so well, you are so inspiring. I can’t believe you’ve cut out sugar since October, that’s amazing! I will definitely join the challenge and cut sugar for one week and let’s see what happens.
I have been busy preparing food for the week. I made grain-free chocolate granola sweetened with a little stevia, homemade Quest bars using a zero sugar syrup, and keto cheesy chicken casserole. I went to a friends place for ribs and they gave me a doggie bag to take home so I have some extra food.

    B – coffee with cream
    L – 2 fried eggs, bacon, 1/2 avocado
D – cheesy chicken casserole with cauliflower rice
S – Greek yogurt with grain-free granola, a few blackberries

    Workout – Body Pump

    1. Thank you Christine! So are you in more ways than you know! You are so special to me.
Way to go with the prepping!!! I need a pic of the Quest bars! Your chicken casserole sounds delicious.
Great day! Have a fabulous Monday!

  2. So I did decent this weekend! Not perfect, but decent, so I think I’ve kinda eased myself into tomorrow being no sugar, lol! I had a few fruit snacks, and an airhead, but no sugar binge so yay! For exercise I did yard work with my husband today, chopping a stump out with an ax and digging up stones heavier than me. My shoulders and upper back are soooo sore! But I felt badass, lol! I’m excited for tomorrow!!

      1. 😊 it was fun, but it was a shocking demonstration of the difference between man strength and woman strength. I worked as hard as I could and my husband did five times what I did in the same amount of time and he didn’t even give 100%! Maybe he’s just super strong, but wow. I feel like a large child. lol!

    1. You and my husband love the fruit snacks and airheads! He likes circuis peanuts too lol. Do you remember those? They are terrifying haha!
I am on my computer so I have no emojis but strong arm emoji! Strong arm emoji!

      1. Holy crap, I am so sore! My hands and forearms are the worst. I keep dropping things!
No circus peanuts for me, ick! I like candy cigarettes though! Lol!

  3. I did well. Ate a little more then usual. My brain wanted sugar so I kept munching on other things. I made popcycles with pineapple and BCAAs. It’s not really warm enough here yet for that to work! Lol so I had steal cut oats with baked berrries and cinnamon. I think I’m over the hump. I’ve resisted chocolate and candy for three days under extream duress. Oh shoot! I lie! I had three chocolate covered macadamia nuts yesterday. I shop at this small family owner grocery store like 1/2 a mile from my house. (Love it, 5 min walk, they take the groceries out to my truck, they special order anything I want, and their platform is “shop local”. So so much stuff is local. They also let me take my groceries without paying if I walk up and don’t take my bag. Thanks LEES!) anyway, they always have new funky products. Usually treats. I have to try them all it seems. Old habits die hard I guess:-)
Friday I went to the gym and did glutes and core
Saturday I had a charity luncheon/fashion show for a local women’s shelter so I did not workout. It was a great afternoon and lots of money was raised:-) then I totally forgot to bring a change of clothes and took the boys to meet the REAL lightning Macqueen! Needless to say I got a few odd looks in my attire as most people were in some sort of camo and baseball hats! As you would to a auto parts store to meet a race car! Lol Declan kept wanting me to go faster through puddles in 5 ” heels! The things we do for kids. It was really cool though. I couldn’t believe how they brought a cartoon to life.
Sunday I organized my basement and moved EVERYTHING! I’m getting ride of most of the cardio machines and building a new office down there. So that had a sweat going for about 4 hours. Then in the afternoon I did my first trail run this year. I really surprised myself with how good it felt. I did 4km and a decent pace. 7miles/hour Strava said. Oh but side note I thought I’d take my dog. BIG mistake! I was dragging him basically. It was sad it made me realized he’s getting older now:-(. He’s seven. He’s an english bulldog so they are not really runners anyways but he used to want to pull and run all the time:-(
Have a great first official sugar free day to those of you who are in the challenge! And as for Angela….. ummmm continue to be our sugarless beacon! Lol guide us your way to the sugar free homeland!!

    1. Oh and let me say I didn’t drag Angus 4 Kms! I should have mentioned we went to the river and I brought him back home and stared again! No animal cruelty here:-)

    2. Oh I love how you made the popcicles! And your yummy oatmeal! Lol! You are so funny, LEES!
Oh were you IN that fashion show???
Ugh, that’s the only thing I hate about having a dog is their short life spans 😦
      Angus xoxoxox
Lol! Thanks Sarah! Like I said, I was 192! I had no room to play any games lol. Welcome to the homeland!

      1. That’s just the weight of the two inches you have on me. We were sister whales!

    1. Hi there!
Refined added sugars. Fruit ❤️❤️❤️ lol! I think all of us are just cutting the way that works best for us. I quit everything that gave me that “bingey” feeling. Love to hear from you each day if you want to give it a shot! 😃
