Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – May 10th, 2017

Good evening my fair madens!

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge!

I can’t believe I didn’t share with you my latest baking fail last night!

Cookies, not meat.

Well…….what had happened was….

We started out making slime.

But then I shared it on Facebook and was quickly notified that I was likely burning my child’s skin….

So we cleaned everything up and decided to bake sugar cookies instead. The only thing is, I don’t have any sugar in the house and I can’t bake! Like, at all!

So instead of white sugar I used organic light brown sugar which I use for Jason’s oatmeal. Then I made sure to check the recipe backward and forward because the only powdery ingredients it called for were baking powder and baking soda. Aren’t cookies supposed to have flour or something???

Anyway, that’s what led to the amazing piece of work you see above……

Onto today’s food and workout.

My food was almost the same as yesterday, I just had oatmeal instead of quinoa for breakfast and lunch. My workout was yet another humbling session of Extreme Pilates.

Questions:

What was your worst cooking fail?

What did you eat today?

Exercise?

Until next time!

  1. Finally got on here! What a week. TGIF!! Cooking mishaps. Ugh. Almost every single time I make grilled cheese I have to do it twice because I burn the first one. And I’m a pretty good cook and baker. My grandma was a baker. My grandpa was a butcher. My dad was a chef. It’s in my blood, lol! Why can’t I do the simple stuff? And I think my most dramatic was Easter a few years ago I was making a mint pie and I accidentally over whipped the cream and it fell. I was in the grocery store less than two hours before dinner buying more cream to make another. So stressful, lol! But it always makes for funny memories. Have a great weekend everybody!! 😘

    1. Lol! Anne, you should have seen a grilled cheese that I made a few weeks ago. BLACK. You and Sarah. You two are kitchen queens! Happy Mother’s Day Anne!

      1. My last one was black too! And it was the last two pieces of bread. I was like sorry kid, you’re getting a hot dog, lol!😂

  2. Yes, I’ve had some epic fails in my day. I no longer bother myself with baking. Probably a good thing as I do not need to eat anything of the such. I have totally been craving a donut or cookie for two weeks now.

  3. Good morning! I started to post yesterday and someone called and I got side tracked! Story of my life!
Cooking blunders! I’ve had lots. I like to experiment a lot. Following a recipe is not my deal. I love to bake. I usually read 5 recipes, take whatilike from each and make it my own. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not! Lol. When usually it does though and I’ve come up with some wonderful things. I’m trying to think of my most epic fail! Ah!when I was 8 my grandmother and I decided to make a cherrie cheese cake. Well it was just not working and my grandmother being very A type and not settling for less then 100% had to restart this cake 4 times. We sentry poor grandfather to the store 3 times to buy more cream cheese! Anyway, we finally kept the 4thi believe. But just thinking now I’ve never made cheese cake since! Hmmm maybe I need a Mother’s Day revival!
