Hi Peaches!

Today’s video is different than usual. I just want to give a video explanation of why this is no longer a fitness blog, how that all happened, and how a fiction novel was born. Click the title to watch!

Hope you all are well and blessings to you!

I love Christman Because I’m Wicked

I love Christman Because I’m Wicked

Christmas

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.  Proverbs 16:18

Ugh, so true…and the story of my life.

I love Christmas. Here’s why.

My life has been defined by pride and fear. I have gone to great lengths to protect my pride. So great, in fact, that I ended up not only humiliating myself time and time again but hurting many innocent bystanders in the process.

The good thing about humiliation is that once you been through enough of it, you quit caring what others think. This is good and bad.  You finally reach the point of just being yourself with no apologies but this often leads to living only for yourself. This was me for sure.

When I first married Jason, I thought of God as someone who protected us and provided for us. That was it. I didn’t care about getting to know God, what He was all about, what pleases Him, what doesn’t please Him. Nope. If I did, I would have understood exactly Who I was neglecting and what a grave mistake this was.  I would have understood how great the gift is that Christ died for ignorant, uncaring, habitual sinning me. If I would have taken the time, to read His word that He has left for us to read, I would have understood more of what I was saved from. I would have understood that when it is said that He saved us from our brokenness, this is putting it extremely light.

He saved us from our wickedness. We are wicked. I am wicked.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?  Jeremiah 17:9

I don’t have to try to be bad. I have to try to be good. I am naturally inclined to sit alone and make myself comfortable and happy. I have to try to venture out and love others. Love is an action, and God loved us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

How would you feel if someone who called you friend never took time to get to know you, never wanted to speak to you unless to ask for something, and constantly did things you hated? You would likely distance yourself from them and leave them to reap what they sow.

God hates sin.

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.  Proverbs 6:16-19

We are born inclined to do these things. If you think you are above these, stop right now and ask God to bring your sin to the forefront of your mind. Who wouldn’t hate these things? These are horrible things that our natural hearts desire.

But…God so loved the world.

He saved us from ourselves by sending His Son, born of a virgin. He lived a life none of us could live…then He took our punishment.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.  John 15:13

Our pastor said that across the manager is the cross. That is true. I love Christmas because the King of Kings was born, saved me from wicked myself, and called me friend.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11

The thing about someone saving your life is, you owe it to them.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship.
Roman 12:1

This Christmas, take the time to truly know God. You will love Him so much more when you know just how much He has loved you.

Merry Christmas,
Angela
